Contrasting with the instagramable food culture prevalent today, saturated, close-up, ring flashed images of everyday British cuisine invite the public to take a close look at what they eat. British Food is the beginning of Parr’s fascination with food as a way to explore social issues and identity, and showcases the early stages that defined both Parr’s unique style and this genre of photography.
